I am an artist, writer, teacher, and adventurer based in the small Southeast Alaskan community of Hoonah. I think of myself as a sketch explorer, using brush and pen to discover details of the human and natural worlds. However, my 25-plus years of classroom teaching experience in art, English, Spanish, and social studies makes me sensitive to how learning drawing and painting differs from studying most other subjects. My teaching currently focuses on using observational drawing to facilitate focus and brain development, to deepen academic experiences, and to enhance appreciation for nature. My work is available for purchase, and all profits go to supporting conservation of Southeast Alaska's unique environment and lifestyle. Please contact me for details -- or just to say "hi!"
